EVICTION PREVENTION ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

Program Overview

The Eviction Prevention Assistance Program is an initiative by the United Alliance for African Communities (UAAC) aimed at supporting low and very low-income African households facing eviction. Our mission is to provide financial assistance and resources to help families maintain stable housing and improve their overall well-being.

Program Objectives

  • Assist 30-40 Households: Provide crucial support to families at risk of eviction each year.
  • Financial Assistance: Offer per household to cover overdue rent and prevent homelessness.
  • Community Education: Empower residents with knowledge about their rights, available resources, and the eviction process.
  • Strengthen Partnerships: Collaborate with local landlords, housing authorities, and community organizations to foster a supportive network.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for assistance, households must:

  • Demonstrate an income at or below 80% of the Area Median Income (AMI).
  • Provide proof of financial hardship, such as job loss or medical emergencies.
  • Present a notice of eviction or demand for payment from their landlord.

  • Complete our simple application form available online or at the UAAC office.
